Broken Doll are a punk rock band hailing from the North East of England, we were formed in 2007 although the current incantation has only being around for about a year and a half. We aimed to set up a band that is in the spirit of everything punk rock drawing influences from punk old and new. After a few years of regularly gigging in the local venues and pubs or anywhere else that would let us play, we turned our attention to writing an E.P and touring outside the North East and through this we have gained experience from being out on tour and from the naiveties of producing a record.
We have now just finished our second record a full length CD which we feel is in the right direction of where the band wants go musically and contains a lot of good songs. Through the process of song writing and making the record we have continued to play shows regularly and have since being asked to do shows with the likes of The Rezillos, The Buzzcocks, [Spunge], Orange, A Static Thought, Abrasive Wheels, GBH, Girlfixer, Diablo 66, Gimp Fist.
This has fuelled our desire to want to take the band further and play more of these shows and do our best to keep up with the main bands who also share the stage. We have had many good experiences playing with some of the bands we grew up listening to and hope to have many more, but this still hasn't detracted from what we want to do, we want to play with these bands but also earn the right to be there and put a show on for the crowd, get them enjoying the set and leave the stage knowing you gave it 110%.
We are looking to really go forward and see where we can take our music, we are not looking for money or a vast record deal, but if you like our music and see if there’s any potential then we would be happy to take any help we can get, our aims are simple to get our music heard by as many people as possible and tour anywhere we can.
