I first started playing the guitar in 1988 at age 23 and formed Nelson punk band "Dead Centre", which was to last for ten years. In 1997 I started recording my own songs, using a drum machine for the drums. I recorded three albums this way, up until 2003. Song topics range from sick humour to political, usually mixed. In 2001 I moved to Dunedin, and formed "The Pukes", a band which plays live versions of my recorded songs. In 2007 I started recording by using samples of The Pukes drum recordings, cut and pasted to make new songs, instead of the drum machine. I also perform songs solo, with the drum machine from time to time. |
