As frontman Brian Longway was making his rounds during the band’s music video premiere party, he stopped by to shake my hand and said, “Sorry man, we don’t know much about the business of music, we are just a bunch of guys that like making music.” Nothing could describe the band Longway better. Far from the swollen egos and half-hearted talent that plague the typical Orange County punk band, Longway’s sound is a potent combination of Southern California punk that embraces a real sense of blue collar rock ‘n’ roll.Veering away from the clichéd punk persona of the uber-angry anarchists, or the overtattooed nerds faking their way through it, Longway instantly commands credibility both onstage and in the speakers.The guitar driven sound is nothing that reinvents the wheel, yet in its simplicity becomes universally inclusive. In keeping things simple, Longway concentrates on making solid, gimmick free rock.That kind of focus resonates in a brand of punk rock that pulls together fans from every walk of life.
