American Folk Singer, Storyteller, Poet, Labor Organizer, Anarchist

Bruce "Utah" Phillips

May 15, 1935 – May 23, 2008

“The state can't give you freedom, and the state can't take it away. You're born with it, like your eyes, like your ears. Freedom is something you assume, then you wait for someone to try to take it away. The degree to which you resist is the degree to which you are free..."

~"I have just as much authority as the Pope! I just don’t have enough people who believe it." G. Carlin~

American Poet, Beatnik,

Allen Ginsberg

June 3, 1926 - April, 5 1997

“Communism is a nine letter word used by inferior magicians with the wrong alchemical formula for transforming earth into gold. Funky warlocks operating on guess work, hand-me-down mandrake terminology that never worked, communion of bum magicians, failures working with the wrong equations, sorcerer’s apprentice’s who lost control of the simplest broomstick in the world: Language!”

“Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend.
Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.”
-Groucho Marx

I like some fiction and non-fiction books about religion, mythology, (am I being redundant?) history, politics, science, philosophy, archeology, and conspiracies theory's.

“From the moment I picked your book up
until I laid it down, I was convulsed with
laughter. Someday I intend reading it.”
– Groucho Marx

I enjoy documentaries and mockumentaries of all kinds.

Troma films.

David and Jennifer Lynch films.

Marx Brothers films.

Political and Social Satire.

End of the World movies.

Paranormal/ Psychological thrillers.

Classic Sci-Fi movies.

Dystopian films.

Diesel Punk / Steam Punk / Stitch Punk / films.

Historical Reenactments.

Odd and Underground cartoons.

Historic and Contemporary political propaganda films.

And I have a sweet tooth for all films related to ice hockey.

I am inimitable, how are you?

In 'real life' I’m generally a grouchy, passive aggressive, anti-social, introverted, mischievous, anarchic, and irreverent yet loveable contrarian.

I am also an original co-founder of the roots-punk band, The Elixirs. (drums/backing vocals 2007-2012)

It varies from day to day. Sometimes I get to pack records for shipping, sometimes I'm just filing old documents. Been lucky enough to type up some handwritten letters by Jello a couple of times-he has some of the most childish handwriting. :)
