Dogsflesh were formed in Teesside, England during May 1982 and played a handful of gigs around the North East including supporting GBH at Middlesbrough's infamous Rock Garden and The UK Subs at The Swan Ballroom in Redcar. The band also recorded a three track demo in November 1982, with tracks called Never Give In, Mad Dog & Destroy. The band lacked any real direction until Rob recruited a whole new line up which comprised of Jon McQuade on vocals, Tim Whitfield on Bass and John Lavender on drums. With the new line up complete the band recorded new material which was influenced by The Exploited, GBH, Disharge and The English Dogs and In June of 1984 the band were asked to contribute two tracks, Soldier Boy & Fight The System, for a compilation album called the ‘New Bowery’ which was released on the Teesbeat label. The band continued writing new material and playing gigs, supporting bands like The Angelic Upstarts,Anti Nowhere League, GBH & Discharge, The English Dogs and The Exploited. The band recorded a four track demo at Offbeat Studio’s in Leeds in February 1985 with tracks called Fast Living Boy, Out My Head, Bloody Road to Death and their anthem Mad Punks And Psycho Skins and unfortunately the band split up in August 1985. Twenty years later, in 2005, Rob recruited the original members of the band and they once again hit the road in the UK and also played their first European dates in Czech Republic. The band also released its first live album in September of that year. In January 2006 the band recruited Richie Pendlington on drums to replace John, who couldn't commit to the increasing number of gigs the band were playing. The band have since released the 4 track EP called The Threat Remains and on 12th November release their first studio album called Vision Of Hell. The band have also recently completed their first tour of USA and also played gigs in Italy, Slovakia, Austria, with further European dates lined up for 2008.

In 2009 the band suffered a major setback when Jon had to quit the band due the sudden death of his partner of 20 years leaving him to bring up 3 young children on his own, despite looking at new singers the band opted for Rob to take over on lead vocals and guitar to enable the band to continue playing. In 2010 after further European and UK shows the band returned to the studio with new drummer Greg to record their latest album called REVIVAL OF SPECIES, which was recorded at Prism Studio's in Stoke On Trent, where both Discharge and Broken Bones have recorded in the past, the album is recieving very good reviews and further UK & European tours are being arranged along with a return to USA in 2011.

The only Drummer I've ever known to play w/Billyclub was Matthew McCoy, but, unless he moved back to England, I don't think he's with him. On the other hand I haven't seen Matt since 2009 when Cocksparrer played their first Chicago gig. Karl's been threatening to get Xtract back together for years. That would be nice i he did.

Give Egghead (Karl) my regards when you tour w/Billyclub, and tell him to get his crappy band back to the states NOW! (Who's playing bass and drums for him now? Is Tez part of the fold, or is he too busy w/Discharge?)
